nore flyfishing 079If you decide to come fishing with us you can bring along your own tackle or we can supply you whatever you need for the day.

If you are bringing your own stuff here are some pointers on what you might consider:

A 9 foot #5 weight rod is ideal and a floating line to match for most methods of dry fly and wet fly fishing on the river, a ten foot #2-3 weight will be perfect for all nymphing methods . For some streamer fishing you might need a sinking line for the five weight rod to get the streamers down to the fish.

Depending on conditions leaders can be anywhere from 8 to 15 feet in length tapering to a 6x or 7x tippet. These leaders can be made in advance for your required fishing and condition.

Breathable chest waders with Viabram soles, Polaroid glasses and brimmed hat , if you have little experience in wading then we recommend a wading staff for your safety.

Fly sizes range from 12 to 20 depending on the time of year, pheasant tail nymphs, caddis larvae, various CDC emergers, duns, sherry and red spinners, caddis pupae, elk hair caddis, black gnats etc are all effective flies.
